Walk, Jog, or Bike Around the Mountain

Walkers, joggers, and bicyclists can circle the mountain on Robert E. Lee Boulevard, a 5 mile loop. Motor vehicle traffic is one-way between Confederate Hall and the Grist Mill so you can enjoy wide dedicated lanes for jogging and biking.  Where Robert E. Lee Blvd. has two-way traffic, walkers and joggers must use the sidewalk, not the paved motor vehicle lanes.

Bicyclists can ride along the paved roadways inside the Park. There is a dedicated bicycle lane on Robert E. Lee Blvd. on the back side of the mountain between Confederate Hall and the Grist Mill. Bikers must ride single file and follow all traffic laws. Bikes are permitted during daylight hours and after dark with proper lights. Helmets are required for all riders under age 16. Bikes and other motorized vehicles (including scooters)are not allowed on the mountain, sidewalks, or any unpaved nature or hiking trails. Unfortunately we do not have any mountain biking trails inside the park.

Public restrooms are located along Robert E. Lee Boulevard at Confederate Hall, Walking Trails parking area (old Wildlife Trails area), Grist Mill, and Children's Playground.

Bicycle rentals are not offered inside the Park. Village Bikes, in the Stone Mountain Village, is just outside the West Gate and rents bikes from March - November. Please call 678-476-1925 for more information.

Scooters are not available for rental inside the Park. Stone Mountain Scooters also located in the Village rents motorized scooters. Please call 770-413-8461 or visit www.stonemountainscooters.com for additional information. These vendors are not affiliated with Stone Mountain Park.

Please see the Walk-Up Trail page for information on hiking to Stone Mountain's summit.
